# Current Status

* Maui scheduling is running well
  * Issues:
    * Can't run more than 8 jobs at a time
* 101 Jupyter users
* Jupyter seems to be working well with overall cluster
* Cert is being used by Jupyter
* wiki is inaccessible
* At no time has the system/head node been overwhelmed (that I know)
* Backups and file recovery?
  * As of last Wed. at systems meeting, college said no we can't backup; 
  * Drobo: being rebuilt
    * Backup home:
      * Hourly backup of home, with backups spread out over a month
      * User can do their own recovery
      * Do NFS mount on athena
    * Need data to be backed up; talk to Gina

* ssh from off-campus hangs on Linux after a few minutes
* git over https doesn't work

## Jupyter

* Can't download PDF
* Need student accounts renamed
  * there is an option to do this in Admin, but not configured? (maybe need sudo for admins)
* lots of Javascript to make better
  * submit needs instructor level in hierarchy
  * publish to allow destination selection

* Need to configure/test using PBS/Maui from Jupyter

## Jupyter

* Move to pip/anaconda installation rather than SPEC-based
  * Would allow easy update to Jupyter 4.0/4.1
  * Packages can be updated easily
* Should we update to Jupyter 4.0/4.1?
  * Differences are probably Python-only
  * Pro: Will be able to switch to new functionality easier during semester
  * Con: Will take some time over winter break to update and test
* How to make new accounts? Reset passwords?
  * Need them quickly
  * Can the "Add User" button on the Admin page be activated? (maybe need sudo for admins)
* Would like to have some development on this platform:
  * have idea of a class (through groups?)
  * be able to email class
  * integration with git
* Do we need to scale up?
  * What would it take?
